’Dedicated training’ aligned to CSCAF

DEDICATED TRAINING ALIGNED TO CSCAF

Dedicated technical training aligned to the indicators of the ClimateSmart Cities Assessment Framework are developed in association with thematic experts and ClimateSmart Alliance partners. The intent is to enable cities mainstream climate actions and progress across the indicators and themes of their priority. 26 e-training around the thematic area of urban planning, green cover and biodiversity, energy and green buildings; mobility and air quality; and water management have been conducted. In addition to city representatives, trainings were also provided to trainers from regional training institutions. The Centre in association with regional training institutions and expert trainers is scaling up the training across the country.



All the modules are designed as e-training and are taken up for not more than 2 hours. The training is designed to inform key concepts and action areas in a brief presentation followed by an virtual interactive exercise. The exercise is designed to equip participants with key skills and support with decision making. An exhaustive compilation of reference materials and training manual is also provided for further reference. The list of training modules available are listed below.

City Climate Action Plan

The module focuses on how to conduct a HVRA along with steps to be followed for developing a city climate action plan.

The module focuses on how to develop a city disaster management plan with emphasis on the roles of various stakeholders and departments in strengthening resilience.

This module focuses on establishing a biodiversity management committee, developing biodiversity register along with ways to enhance urban biodiversity.

The module focuses on how to conduct tree census and actions that can be undertaken to increase green cover with a focus on increasing native tree species.

The module focuses on the various renewable sources that a a city can leverage for reducing GHG emissions with an emphasis on expanding roof top solar systems.
