Nanda Kishore in his capacity as the DFID Program Coordinator & Team Leader is leading NIUA’s effort on ‘National Urban Learning Platform’ and ‘Building Accessible, Safe and Inclusive Indian Cities’. As the National Program Head for National Urban Innovation Stack, Nanda is defining NIUA's role as the anchor institute which includes operationalization of technology & ecosystem activities, action research on leveraging technology to empower cities & city governments, consolidating institute's & MoHUA's existing digital efforts (such as Smartnet etc.) and defining the organisational strategy for technology and society practice. Before joining NIUA, he has worked with city governments, not-for-profit, academic institutes and consultant organisations in India and United Kingdom on a wide range of thematic areas which included urban revitalization, integrated planning, strategic planning, hydrological modelling, and crowd sourcing urbanism. Nanda is an alumni member of Commonwealth Scholar Network and Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Travelling Scholar Network and has an inter-disciplinary academic training in engineering, urban & regional planning and environmental systems.
