Simran Purswani


Research Associate

Simran Purswani is a Research Associate at the National Institute of Urban Affairs. Her interests are in the field of urban planning and policy, urban design, urban disaster management, and resilient cities. She is currently working on creating a database of 266 cities across 14 sectors under the Urban Outcomes Framework (UOF) and exploring urban data under Urban Data Science Lab (UDSL). Simran’s independent research also focuses on analysing the diminishing green spaces in Lucknow City through GIS, improving design parameters of parks and open spaces, and studying cultural heritage revival through urban transformation in Ayodhya City. Before joining NIUA, Simran worked with SG Analytics on the Corporate Environment, Social, and Governance rating project. Simran majored in Architecture and holds a Masters in Urban Development and Management from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi.
