Developing Comprehensive City Water Management Plans for Indian Cities
Ongoing
This project is being carried out under the Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark.
The project is an avenue for Indian and Danish experts to work together to develop comprehensive City Water Management Plans (CWMP) for two Indian Cities, Varanasi and Udaipur. The plan uses a systems approach to understand and managing every element of the urban water cycle. And more importantly, managing these elements, and their interactions with society, in an integrated manner.
The Plan will elaborate on the actionable projects and initiatives that the cities will take in order to enhance their overall long-term water security condition, based on a sound scientific assessment.
Denmark is renowned for its water management, and several of its cities have developed long-term CWMPs. Hence, the project includes city officials from the City of Aarhus in Denmark for the project.
