InnoDI : Innovation for Water Sustenance

Budget : N/A
Innovation Type (Process/ Product): Product

About the Project:

There is a space constraint in water kiosks in prominent tourist and market places, and there is a growing requirement for cheap and reliable 24x7 drinking water supplies in residential communities. InnoDI sets up an affordable and safe drinking water kiosks based on capacitive deionization technology in partnership with urban local bodies across key public places and low-income residential communities. The project has been successfully piloted by Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). This company had been buying bottled drinking water daily to provide purified drinking water to over 500 staff members and visitors in their corporate office in Hyderabad. The device placed on top of the terrace of the office, and it treated and stored 3,000 litres of drinking water daily, which was then discharged to every floor in the building through a dispenser attached to the main tank. By adopting this technology, the department was able to save Rs 4 lakh annually.
