Sarayu is an Urban planner - Architect with a master’s in Urban Planning and Policy Design from Politecnico di Milano. Having over 3 years of experience in urban planning, policy design, and various architectural projects her interests lie in the fields of energy and urban planning, and self-sustaining economies, and she believes in working together to achieve equitable development. She is currently the Project officer (Nature-based Solution) of the GEF7-funded UrbanShift Country Project at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA). She had previously worked on World Bank and ADB development projects. Prior to that, she worked as an Urban Transit Design Fellow in the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) functioning under the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka. As a part of the academic studio, her project titled “Designing and diffusing Nature-based solutions for a resilient city with co-creation processes” was presented and published in Ri-form are Milano 2018. In her free time, she enjoys sketching, traveling, and volunteering as a graphic designer.
