The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) is conducting the first training program for member cities of RCA on the topic “Managing Urban Rivers – From Planning to Practice”. The training duration is for two and half days and will be conducted in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh from 5th-7th May, 2022. The training program will include both classroom training combined with site visit to showcase interventions on diverse aspects of urban river management.
The training program is designed to orient the city officials on “Urban River Management Plan”, a unique planning framework prepared by NIUA and NMCG to help river cities manage the river stretches within their administrative limits in a sustainable manner. The senior officials from RCA member cities who are actively engaged in planning and implementation of national missions like Namami Gange, AMRUT 2.0, SBM 2.0 and Smart Cities Mission are expected to attend this training.
