The Water and Sewerage Knowledge Standard, developed under the National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM) by NIUA, provides a standardized taxonomy and data framework to ensure semantic and syntactic interoperability across Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in India. It defines key entities, processes, channels, stakeholders, and KPIs involved in water and sewerage governance. The standard promotes harmonization of terminology, supports evidence-based decision-making, and enables data-driven governance. It is designed to be modular, evolvable, and inclusive, supporting both digital and non-digital service delivery methods while aligning with existing Indian e-Governance standards for seamless adoption across diverse urban contexts.
