The Trade License Knowledge Standard developed under the National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM), provides a unified and standardized taxonomy for trade license processes across Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in India. It establishes common definitions, data elements, workflows, stakeholders, and KPIs to enable semantic and syntactic interoperability across governance systems. The standard supports direct service delivery, policy planning, and evidence-based decision-making while aligning with other Indian e-Governance standards like SP7:2016, IS 18000, and IS 18006. Designed to be minimalist, modular, evolvable, and inclusive, it ensures consistent data usage and promotes transparent, efficient urban governance across diverse local contexts.
