Project Manager

Pragya Sharma has over 15 years of professional experience in the field of Urban Development, Planning, Governance and Management. She has Master's degree in Planning with specialization in urban planning from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi. Currently, she is a Project Manager at National Institute of Urban Affairs, New Delhi working on Sustainable, Healthy, Learning Cities and Neighbourhoodsresearch project supported by Research Councils UK Collective Fund, Research Collaboration between India and Germany, Urban Governance and four projects funded by UNICEF. Prior to this, she has been involved in JNNURM Reform Appraisal, Sustainable Social Housing Initiatives and HUDCO Chair activities at NIUA. She is Managing Editor, Environment and Urbanisation, Asia journal published by SAGE Publications and Associate Editor, Urban India, journal. Before joining the Institute, she has been associated with Society for Development Studies, New Delhi where she has contributed in many research studies funded by UNDP, UNEP, UN-HABITAT, CDIA, World Bank, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Finance among others. She has coordinated the Capacity Building Programme under Colombo Plan, Ministry of External Affairs for eight consecutive years. She has also co-ordinated UNDP's Human Development Report based planning and policy for Rajasthan state. Many of her research based work have been published as Working Papers and Research Papers in national and international journals.
