Ms. Manju Rajeev Kanchan graduated in Bachelors in Architecture from College of Architecture, Thiruvananthapuram. She completed her Masters in Landscape Architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV) ; winning the gold medal for best student in the Department of Landscape Architecture. Her postgraduate thesis titled ‘The sombre case of an odd triad -dolphin, man and zoonosis’ was awarded the best thesis that year in SPAV in addition to securing first position in Namami Gange Sponsored Student Thesis Competition Season 1 on Reimagining Urban Rivers by National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). She is also a recipient of numerous prestigious accolades such as Sheikh Hamdan and Sharjah Award for Overall Excellence, etc. She has also held leadership roles at a national and international level under the umbrella of academics and youth. With around 2.5 years of professional experience in the domain of architecture and research, she has shared her experiences at different platforms such as ISOLA Bangalore Chapter Thesis open forum v6.0 and National Youth Conclave (Y20) under G20 India (Urban 20 India) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. She also has a few published work to her credit across various written media. She currently works as a research associate under the Water and Environment Vertical at NIUA. Outside work, she is an avid bibliophile, qualified orator, a growing polyglot with a penchant for research and an aspiring global citizen with diverse interests and hobbies. Her core interests lie within research backed implementations that blur the lines between nature and architecture. Her main design motto is “Sometimes not intervening in a site is also landscape architecture.”
