The E-learning series targeting city officials focus on the governance and management processes required for addressing climate challenges. Aligning to the themes of CSCAF, the series had thematic experts and city officials to discuss the best practices in conserving biodiversity, rejuvenation of freshwater ecosystems, developing city climate action plans and implementing nature based solutions. The 10 part e-learning series conceptualized in association with WRI India demonstrated the benefit of cross-sectoral and multi-institutional collaborations for implementing climate actions.
Session 1: Urban Resilience
This session introduced the approaches for mainstreaming resilience in short, mid and long term planning processes. Leveraging ongoing initiatives for achieving resilience co-benefits and engaging with stakeholders for creating awareness and building resilience actions were also discussed.
Session 2: Air Quality
This session discussed the causes and impacts of air pollution and explained various tools to measure air pollution and air quality in India. The session showcased a case study explaining the experience of Source Apportionment Study in Surat and introduced initiatives cities can adopt to monitor air quality.
Session 3: Nature based Solutions
The session introduced various Nature-based Solutions (NbS) that have been adopted by cities and discussed the inter-departmental coordination along with other stakeholder participation for effective implementation of NbS.
