Overview

Center for Digital Governance

The Indian growth story is closely linked to her path to urbanisation. In 2020, the 4400+ statutory towns and cities in India accounted for a little over 30 per cent in its share of the Indian population, at its current rate of growth, this number is expected to touch 50 per cent by 2030. With such growing populations, urban management is growing more complex. Solving local problems contextually and efficiently becomes contingent on quick responses from multiple government actors and other stakeholders.

Enter the Centre for Digital Governance, instituted at the National Institute of Urban Affairs to enable digital transformation of urban governance, delivered through responsive and customised open source technology platforms and accompanying solutions.
