Urban Green Planning (UGP) focuses on the implementation of an interconnected system of green spaces in cities including passive open spaces, active recreational parks and playgrounds and natural conservation areas delivered through private and public development. A robust urban green system can foster sustainable urban development and has multiple positive impacts, such as health and clean air benefits as well as increasing resilience towards climate change impacts such as heatwaves and floods. Strengthening urban green needs comprehensive planning, based on administrative structures, involving actors at community and citizen levels working in concert towards a shared vision.
