The Smart Cities Mission and the ITDP India Programme, in partnership with the World Bank and GIZ SMART-SUT Programme, launched the Urbanlogue Webinar Series on How to Implement COVID-safe Urban Transport Solutions. Over 2500 people from 150 cities across India and around the world registered for the first four episodes. Episode 5 is about Integrated digital fare collection for formal and informal public transit For a safe trip: swipe, tap, or transfer. COVID-19 has made digital contactless payments a necessity. Seamless e-ticketing can not only transform the user experience in public transport but also integrate informal transit services like shared autos/taxis, e-rickshaws and private minibuses, that serve the bulk of public transport trips in Indian cities. The dialogue continues at 3 PM on Wednesday, 17th June.
