About the project
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) has launched the National Urban Learning Platform (NULP) in 2020. NULP is a digital platform designed to empower urban practitioners by promoting capacity building, knowledge exchange, and collaborative learning.
NULP offers a dynamic platform for municipal officials, urban practitioners, and government bodies to collaborate and enhance their expertise. It provides opportunities to share experiences, gain insights, and develop skills in key urban domains. By fostering a sustainable learning ecosystem, NULP promotes innovation and the adoption of best practices, ensuring continuous growth and capacity building in the urban sector.
Our approach focuses on building a strong community by connecting municipal officials, government agencies, industry leaders, and academia to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. We emphasise skill enhancement through focused learning programs, expert-led training, and best practice dissemination. To drive innovation, we incorporate recognition frameworks and Training of Trainers (ToT) initiatives, enabling the adoption of new urban solutions. Additionally, our data-driven decision-making process leverages a comprehensive database to monitor urban trends and track progress, ensuring informed policy and planning for sustainable urban development.
NULP covers key urban domains essential for sustainable urban development. These include Environment & Climate, Solid Waste Management, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Urban Planning & Housing, Transport & Mobility, Social Aspects, Municipal Finance, Governance & Urban Management, General Administration, and other emerging urban topics. Each domain fosters knowledge sharing and capacity building to enhance urban resilience and efficiency.
