The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is aggregating consultative proposals for National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) for the Global Indices for Growth and Reforms (GIRG) platform where 12 Ministries/Departments are working together for improving the rank of Indian cities at India and Global Level. The GIRG platform is designed with the twin goals of monitoring India’s performance and driving reforms agenda. Towards this end, MoHUA has been assigned the task of India’s performance in the Global Liveability Index, and simultaneously conducts & publishes the Indian Ease of Living and Municipal Performance Indices annually. As part of driving the reforms agenda, the Ministry is evaluating the parameters mentioned in these indices in order to suggest appropriate reform actions. The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) has been appointed as the PMU for this project.
