A program that lays out a platform for the youth to advocate what they believe in, Praja, in collaboration with the Inclusive Cities Centre of the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), introduced Prajatantra 2022-23. Through debates and discussions, we plan on facilitating the youth's mind towards city governance. To create a new success story in city development, it is essential to understand the workings of our urban institutions and how it can be improved. Praja and NIUA, through Prajatantra, brings to the youth of India a celebration of city governance in the 75th Independence year in Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Prajatantra 2021 event truly represented the entire country’s youth. 65 colleges based in 21 Indian states, 3 Union Territories and 30 different cities including metropolises as well as emerging towns registered for the event. Prajatantra 2021 resulted in over 90,000 working hours, 150+ zoom meetings as well as 150+ workforce along with 60+ Judges and 400 youth participating in the competition. Praja had reached out to 2,350 youth directly, and 11,750 indirectly.
